Closing in on a world record California Big Horn.
Yesterday we left Aaron Roth stalking a monster big horn in the Swakane unit, about a half an hour from Wenatchee Washington. This is very steep and rugged country. After running into rattle snakes, finding deer sheds and lost arrows along the way, Aaron was up early in the morning looking to harvest his trophy. He picks it up from there. We’ rein the 2nd day of the season and I thought there’s no way during the 2nd day that I was going to take him, I figured it would be another week or so of hard hunting but I got lucky. On the 2nd day in the morning about 7:30 AM I got lucky and spotted him and stayed with him all day trying to get a good shot. There were 13 rams and I didn’t finally harvest him until about 5:30 PM that night.
