I called up longtime contributor to Sportsmen Spotlight, Washington resident Amy Spoon and asked her to tell me some of her stories. Talk about an outdoors person, listen to her preview to the conversation. "The easiest way to talk would be to go from the spring to now because I have everything arranged from the boyfriend and our oldest, he drew a spring bear tag that we went out and hunted in Eastern Washington and I got a turkey on the same hunt so that was fun. Then that girl group, I don't know if you remember me explaining the girl group that I do, we went on four different fishing trips this summer and then I fished the Washington Tuna Classic which is something very cool that I want to talk about. It's a nonprofit group and the money goes to wounded warriors and we put together an all-female group and we came in 12th place out of a group of 60 which I think is pretty cool for an all girls first time group. Climbed Mount Saint Helens again and just filled my archery deer tag last weekend and now I am elk hunting. After the fall, we can probably talk again and I will have more current stories to tell." And if all of that isn't outdoorsy enough, Amy is a habitat specialist for the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife.
