Sportsmen’s Spotlight team member, Tommy Allen, and his brother-in-law went deer hunting and after doing some serious glassing, came upon a pretty good group of deer. But there was something unusual about it. “One of those unique situations where myself and my brother-in-law each had a buck tag and a second deer tag which is a doe tag. We went out and ended up seeing a whole bunch of deer in this one area and we spotted a nice buck bedded down and there was another decent buck off in the distance. Eventually they gathered together and the bucks started locking horns with each other. My brother-in-law and I both laid on our bellies and ranged just under 300 yards and we were arguing who gets the bigger one but we ended up shooting the bigger one and then got the other one and then we actually filled our dough tags. We had all the deer down in the same area right off the bat and so you know what they say, the fun ends after you pull the trigger. So we field dressed them all and got them in the 4 wheeler. When you got the two bucks, where their horns actually locked? They weren’t really going after like they were fighting. It’s kind like they were just fooling around.
