Sexual Harassment Training

Sexual Harassment Training

Sexual Harassment Training. I’m Greg Martin with today’s Line On Agriculture.

Sexual harassment is nothing to be trifled with and so Dan Fazio with Washington Farm Labor Association says they are offering training sessions on the subject.

FAZIO: Well, we recently held a large labor conference, and one of the featured speakers was the head litigator for the EEOC, William Tamayo. Mr. Tamayo told us that sexual harassment and sexual assault are an area of concern for his agency. The agency has added staff, and the takeaway for me is that they generally have a zero tolerance policy on this issue.

Of course this kind of harassment or assault is completely unacceptable in any environment from the farm to the office.

FAZIO: The EEOC is offering to do training for us. The training is going to be held in Yakima, Pasco, Othello, Wenatchee and Mt. Vernon, starting April 2. This is a 2.5 hour training class for crew bosses, in Spanish, and for management, that will be conducted in English. Anyone who attends will be given a certificate of completion and will really learn something.

These training sessions are open to anyone. For more information visit their website at www.wafla.org
