Beef Counts Program Update in Idaho

Today we are visiting with Idaho Food Bank’s Vice President of Development Morgan Wilson about what has been happening with Idaho’s Beef Counts program. She begins with an update
Wilson: “So the Beef Counts Program is just really a critical program for our clients. It provides that really important beef protein to those that often have to make very hard choices and face hunger. The program this year — we are up to 905,000 servings of beef that has been provided through this program since 2010.
Wilson shares more about a recent promotional event that support the state’s Beef Counts Program.
Wilson: “So we were very excited this last January to partner with the Idaho Steelheads Hockey Team as well as the Idaho Beef Council who supported this event to raise awareness about beef in general as well as the Beef Counts Program. So this was a really fun night and was called Beef on Ice. One dollar for every ticket that was purchased for the game actually came to the Beef Counts Program — so it was very cool. In a very short time, they were able to raise over $2,000 which provides over 3,800 3 oz servings of beef.”
She says the Idaho Food Bank really appreciates all of its partners in making the Beef Counts program such a success.
