August is Colorado Proud Month

August is Colorado Proud month as Colorado Department of Agriculture Marketing Specialist Wendy White shares more details.
White: “Well, Govenor Hickenlooper has proclaimed August as Colorado Proud Month and August first is Colorado Day. So Colorado is celebrating its 140th birthday. To celebrate we are joining History Colorado to kick off our, “Follow Your Fruit and Veggies Journey” for the month of August. We will be having the Commission and producers speak at the event on August first at the History Colorado Center on August first. Then we will have 19 events all across the state throughout the month of August. We will be at the Yuma County Fair and Parade on August 9th. Then we will be heading over to the Western Slope, Grand Junction, Hotchkiss, and Durango. We’ll be making stops in Colorado Springs and Denver — really traveling the state to educate people about Colorado produce.”
