NCBA's Winning National Anthem Singer from the West

That is Sage Patchin singing the National Anthem at a Utah Jazz NBA game earlier this year. She is the 2017 winner of the National Cattlemen's Beef Association National Anthem contest. Patchin is a junior in high school and is a Shelley, Idaho native.

She was nominated by her aunt whose family ranches in Utah. Patchin shares more about her past singing experience.

Patchin: "I have been singing ever since I could make news — at least that is what my mom says. I was singing Elmo when I was two. I've performing for about five or six years. I've performed at a lot of different kind of events. A lot of them have been local but I've had the opportunity to travel recently."

She says that performing in front of a new audience as well as the location of Nashville is something she is really looking forward to.

Patchin: "I'm really excited to perform at the Grand Old Opry. That is one of my goals — that is such an amazing place and so many amazing artists have performed there. It is renowned place and I'm excited to get to do that."

Thanks to the contest's sponsor Norbrook, Patchin won airfare for two to the Cattle Industry Convention as well has lodging. She will sing the national anthem at the Opening General Session as well as at event at the Grand Old Opry and at the NCBA Board meeting as well.
