Plan Ahead to Maximize Spring Nitrogen Crop Applications

It's not too early to plan spring and early-summer nitrogen applications to your crops. In fact, with lower grain prices, it's more important than ever that growers take strategic action to protect yield and return on investment. Koch Agronomic Services' Director of Agronomy Greg Schwab says.

Schwab: "Commodity prices are low and farmers always try to cut back on inputs. However, when it comes to nitrogen and fertilizer cutting back often causes a yield reduction. That yield reduction is going to hurt this year, especially with the commodity prices."

Schwab shares more details about their nitrogen stabilizer AGROTAIN

Schwab: "One thing that growers need to consider is that surface supplied urea fertilizer can be lost through volatilization. By adding AGROTAIN nitrogen stabilizer to the fertilizer, it helps to prevent that volatilization — that nitrogen lost that they experience."

Schwab continues

Schwab: "AGROTAIN Stabilizer is supplied at most retail fertilizer outlets. They just need to ask for it to be added to their fertilizer purchase. If they have any questions I like them to talk to their local county extension agent or state extension specialist. They also understand how the product works and when it adds value."
