Markets active as we approach the end of the year. Traders seem to be wondering how much of this is fund rebalancing and how much of it is actual fundamental information.

Here’s a look at where we ended the week:

Chicago Wheat futures closed up/down/steady/mixed/unchanged $0.07 ¼ to $5.56 ¼ posting a net gain of $0.13 ¼ on the week.

March Corn closed up a penny and a half to $3.90. That market pretty quiet up just $0.02 on the week.

Kansas City Hard Red Winter Wheat futures closed up another $0.09 ¼ Friday to $4.79 ½. That market up $0.18 on the week.

Portland prices for soft white wheat of ordinary protein were unchanged on Friday ranging from $5.90 to $6.10.

Dark Northern Spring wheat prices down $0.06 ¼ to as much as $0.18 ¾. Bids range from $6.83 ½ to $7.03 ½ for 14% protein.

Club Wheat of Ordinary Protein unchanged again on Friday still ranging from $6.10 to $7.40.

Live Cattle quiet on Friday down $0.10 on the day to $126.70. That market up $1.37 ½ on the week.

Feeder Cattle were up $0.10 to $145.55. That market up $2.25 on the week.

January Class III milk was up $0.14 on Friday to $17.10. That’s down $0.26 from last Monday’s open.

Reminder that markets will be closed Wednesday for the New Year holiday.
