For California Act today. I'm Mike Stephens. We continue speaking with Karen Ross, Secretary of the California Department of Food and Agriculture. She explains how there is money available for water and drought response, as well as infrastructure.

There was a total of $5.1 billion in the budget that we're implementing now for a variety of water and drought responses that included $200 million for sigma implementation grants and multiple benefit projects for small communities, including rural projects. There was $200 million over two years time for conveyance projects, and the Department of Water Resources just last week announced how that money will be allocated. Bryant, the state water project Delta, Mendota Canal So really looking at how do we optimize our existing infrastructure with these kinds of repairs, in addition to new projects that have been identified to help us with drought resiliency? So the investment that we have in addition to the Prop one dollars that are in the process of being spent for those bigger term projects is all about, as the governor said, it won't help us exactly in this drought, but it's future proofing California so we can be more resilient for droughts that we know will continue to be a part of our future.
