From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson with today’s Fruit Grower Report. The golf clubs are being polished as golfers prepare for the 29th Annual Washington State Tree Fruit Association Golf Tournament.

WSTFA’s Tim Kovis says the tournament will be held Tuesday at the Highlander Golf Course in East Wenatchee …

KOVIS … “So, we open up check-in at 8:00am. Parker, Smith and Feek, a insurance company that services our industry, sponsors a breakfast burrito for players. And then we go ahead and a shotgun start at 9:30am. And then, we finish the day with a Bar-B-Q, and awards ceremony and a raffle that’s sponsored by Wilbur Ellis.”

The tournament, Kovis says should wrap up by mid-afternoon …

KOVIS … “Usually 3 or 4 o’clock is when we’re about done with our event and it gives folks the ability to get home in a decent hour to have time with their families or other plans that they might have.”

Kovis says all of the player slots are filled, but tickets are still available for the tournament BBQ and donations can be made …

KOVIS … “Correct, folks can visit our website, www.wstfa.org. Click the events tag at the top of the screen and you’ll see our golf tournament page.”

The BBQ will begin at the end of the tournament, which Kovis says should be about 3:00 o’clock at the Highlander Golf Course in East Wenatchee. And again, for BBQ tickets or to donate to the cause, just go to the WSTFA website at www.wstfa.org.
