Sound Agriculture Offering Money-Back Guarantees

There are a lot of new products emerging focused on soil biology, but the effectiveness of these products is all over the board and seems to be very situational. It’s rare to hear of money-back guarantees in this space, but Sound Agriculture is offering one with their SOURCE product, a foliar applied chemistry that improves nutrient availability. Nick Becker is the director of field sales at Sound Ag.
Becker… “If somebody is applying more than 0.95 pounds of nitrogen per bushel, then we would talk about pulling back 25 pounds of nitrogen and phosphorus or one or the other. And then we'll underwrite any potential yield loss up to $100 an acre. And if they're already under that 0.95, then we would say they're already pretty efficient with their fertilizer. And so then we would just apply SOURCE and we guarantee A 1x ROI. So if you don't earn your money back from the product, we'll pay it back in cash.”
Becker says they use check strips to determine this ROI, and says the product seamlessly fits into normal farm operations.
Becker… “We've made it really easy to try, and then it's also a very easy product to handle. So it's very low use rate. We talked about the microbial space, but it is a chemistry. And so it's tank mix compatible. We get a free ride with the sprayer. And because it's such a low use rate, it's very easy to handle.”
