03/31/06 Rural Partnership leadership seminars

Idaho Rural Partnership has prepared a dozen leadership training sessions for business and community leaders. These one day events begin on April 10th in Sandpoint and end May 2nd in Caldwell. IRP executive director Dale Dixon hopes he'll get many of rural Idaho's younger generation to attend. DIXON "We're going to be talking about community development, communication and meeting management. For the business community this is identifying new leaders." Dixon says they also want to give existing community leaders the tools and the support to stay engaged in the process. There are opportunities in rural Idaho where many areas are experiencing growth, where people want to live and work and where broadband communication is expanding. Idaho farmers do rank first in the nation for computer use. These training sessions last all day and you do need to register in advance. DIXON "irp.idaho.gov, you'll see it's very easy to find on the web page, you can register on line. The cost is only 15 dollars and that covers the lunch and materials." Sessions will be held in also be held in Post Falls, Moscow, Kamiah, Fruitland, Rexburg, Preston, Pocatello, Burley, Jerome and Mountain Home. Voice of Idaho Agriculture Bill Scott
