Toms Hunt for a Tom

We had a little success here at sportsman spotlight. We had an early morning turkey hunt. It's late season and the birds are getting a little wiylee and we know where the roost was so we thought we would make a run at them. Matt and I went after them. As we were set up trying to call these birds in I was trying everything from the Tree yelp, the Cut, and Whine. I had Tom set up about 20 yards in front of me and I was back behind in the bushes. I had a clear opening and I could see this Tom and he was strutting around and answering back to us and was just going nuts. None were working in and the morning got longer, the sun started coming out and the birds got quieter so we figured we had to make a move on it. What we did was set Matt up working the box call and I put the sneak on them. Just like you would with a deer or elk, I call it the spot and stalk. It was tough because there was tall grass and it was hard to see the birds. I got in the middle of them and saw a red head come up with a beard on it so I shot it.
