From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson with today’s Fruit Grower Report. The Washington State Tree Fruit Association’s Annual Meeting December 4-5-6 in the Tri Cities will be, among other things, a time to hear from industry experts.

Meeting chair, Marty Olsen says speakers on the opening morning begin with an overview from WSTFA President Jon DeVaney and other industry leaders, followed by the keynote speaker David Magaña …

OLSEN … “In keeping with the scope of a broad look at Agriculture and what’s happening in our industry, David is a senior analyst who works on consumer trends in fresh fruit and vegetable markets, food security and food price dynamics, among other topics such as megatrends that ultimately influence our decisions making at the local levels.”

That, Olsen says should be very informative …

OLSEN … “I’m really looking forward to hear what David has to say and what they’re seeing at a global lender level for ag trends that ultimately we can see how that applies to the tree fruit industry in Washington state.”

From there, Olsen says the topics vary …

OLSEN … “Throughout the meeting, there’ll be a mix of different topics. We’ll have hort topics, business, HR, leadership. There’ll be many things for people to pick from. So, there’ll be something for everyone.”

Tune in tomorrow for more on the opening day speakers at this year’s WSTFA Annual Meeting and Hort Show.
