Today we are wrapping up a 3-day discussion with Dean Meyer, past chair of the U.S. Meat Export Federation. As a group, USMEF continues to navigate the global trade landscape by implementing a variety of strategies to help strengthen existing trade relationships and explore new market opportunities. Within that comes the concept of the buzz word of present – sustainability.

“We work with other partner organizations, soybean, corn, beef, and pork, and we will develop teams that go over and tell how we raise. And we do a lot of media. We do a lot of podcasts, YouTube, whatever social media we can use to work together and promote. And a lot of it’s video. Really, a picture says a thousand words. And we made videos on the sustainability of our product, how we raise it. Some countries think that we’re just this big corporation that raises and they don’t realize that 98% is family operations and we bring that across.”
