National Farmers Union offers an annual Educational Leadership course designed to bring agriculturalists together. National Farmers Union Vice President of Advocacy, Mike Stranz.

“National Farmers Union, for 10 or 15 years now, has been hosting an annual beginning farmer Institute. And that's not just one event. It's a year long cohort of education and conversation and connecting with beginning farmers from around the country. Applications for the next crop of beginning farmers closes on July 15. You can learn more about BFI, the beginning farmers Institute, on the NFU website, nfu.org and just to find it there. But it's a really great opportunity, and we look forward to bringing in farmers and ranchers who are getting started, or hope to get started, and bring them together with other members and friends from across the country.”

Once again, National Farmers Union Vice President of Advocacy, Mike Stranz. He says participants attend three in person learning sessions over the course of the year, one each in Washington, DC, Northern California and Nashville, Tennessee. The sessions include farm tours as well as seminars on a variety of beginning farmers issues such as business planning USDA programs and acquiring land.

Once again, that website for more information is nfu.org Thanks for tuning in to today's line on agriculture report. I'm Lorrie Boyer for the Ag Information Network.
